The Mane 6 and CMC prepare for a trip through the portal.
Tropes that traveled to another world are as follows:
- A Child Shall Lead Them: Because Harry, Sweetie Belle, Apple Bloom, and Scootaloo have spent the most time on the other side of the portal, they are the ones leading the first (brief) expedition.
- Actually Pretty Funny: Despite knowing he's in trouble for keeping a big secret for so long, seeing the Mane 6 trying to learn to walk on two legs (while still ponies) is so funny that Harry can't stop laughing.
- Alien Arts Are Appreciated: Twilight is shown the almanac that Harry brought over from his world, while Rarity is shown the copy of Vogue he brought over. Both mares are floored by what they see and spend a good portion of the evening reading.
- Death Glare: The CMC all get pretty withering ones from their respective relatives.
- The Guards Must Be Crazy: Twilight notes that the guards at the Everfree must have been pretty lax if a colt and three fillies managed to get to and from the portal without being seen dozens of times over the last several months.
- Humans Are Bastards: Harry has this mentality (though mostly towards adults) and gives it as his reason for not wanting anyone to know about the portal.Harry: Later, well, I was afraid of how much trouble I would be in for keeping the portal a secret. And how much my world could do to hurt this one, even by accident.[...] There are some very evil people in my world who wouldn’t hesitate to lie, cheat, and steal once they got here — and they act like perfectly nice people so you never suspect them.
- O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Harry, for the first time ever, directly defies Twilight when she tells him to take her to the portal. Despite how hard it is for him (because he loves her as a parent and is terrified of authority figures), he tells her that he can't let her go to the portal without any preparations, as it could be dangerous. His defiance startles everyone in the room, including himself.
- Running Gag: "Focus, Twilight, focus!"
- Skewed Priorities: Most of the ponies are mad at their little sister/foster son/niece for traveling to another dimension without telling them for months. Rarity, however:Rarity: You have been designing dresses and you haven't shown me your designs?
