Carly and Millicent push Freddie and his ex-wife together after a series of misunderstandings lead them to believe the couple wants to reunite. Harper and Spencer get roped into doing tech work on Millicent's school play.

- Amicable Exes: Freddie and Gwen are still on good terms, with Freddie wishing her nothing but happiness after revealing that she's seeing someone else.
- Competition Freak: Spencer and Harper's competitiveness is taken to another level. The episode opens with them playing pool, with Harper outright admitting that she doesn't like pool and only plays in order to beat Spencer at it. Millicent exploits their need to outdo each other so that they'll help her with her school's production of Romeo and Juliet (Spencer designing the sets and Harper making the costumes), promising them that there is a prize for whoever does the best job. Carly also exploits it in order to trick Spencer and Harper into doing puzzles with Mrs. Benson so that she and Millicent wouldn't have to. All she had to do was say that Spencer is the best at puzzles, with Harper unable to resist the challenge.
- Disappeared Dad: Gwen says that Millicent's biological father has passed away.
- Gingerbread House: Spencer was originally going to construct the sets out of sandstone, but it was too heavy to transport. So he uses toast instead.
- Out-of-Context Eavesdropping: Millicent overhears Freddie mention how much he misses Gwen (he's actually talking about her enchiladas, or "Gwenchiladas" as they're called). This, along with Carly having found a locket that Gwen dropped, which has a picture of her and Freddie inside, convinces the two that Freddie and Gwen want to get back together. In reality, Gwen is seeing another man and the locket was a gift for Millicent as a way of letting her know that even though she and Freddie are no longer together, they will always be family.
