After Miley gets into a spat with Lilly when she doesn't pick her for her flag football team, Oliver resorts to handcuffing them to help them get along but loses the key, right when Hannah is to accept an award. Meanwhile, Robbie Ray gives Jackson the silent treatment for not listening to him one too many times.

- Artistic License – Law: During Robbie Ray's silent treatment, Jackson brings in a tattoo artist to give him an "I hate Dad" tattoo. Even with a parent's consent, it is illegal in California for a minor to get a tattoo, so legally, Jackson should not have been allowed to bring in the tattoo artist.
- Big "NO!": Hannah, Lola, and Robby all yell this when Oliver has a suggestion on what to do to make sure anyone doesn't see the two women handcuffed together.
- Chained Heat: Getting fed up with their squabbling, Oliver uses a pair of handcuffs on Miley and Lilly.
- Jerkass Realization: Hannah gets one during her speech which allows her to reconcile with Lola.
- Silent Treatment: Finally fed up with Jackson constantly ignoring him when it comes to doing his chores, Robbie Ray decides he's done wasting his breath on his son and gives him the silent treatment. He breaks the silence when Jackson finally does the chores and promises to listen going forward.
- Unexplained Recovery: Miley and Lilly are still in handcuffs by the end of the episode, but they managed to get out of them by the next episode.
