A matter of honour.

Revenge is the act of passion, vengeance is an act of justice.

When a boy who was reported missing is found beheaded and his body buried up to his neck. Nick learns that he and another boy were suspected of killing a third boy, and it seems that the dead boy's family threatened him.

Eve warns Adalind not to hurt Nick.

This episode provides examples of:

  • Accidental Murder: Kuma Ikagi was killed when his friend Roger showed him and Brian his grandfather's gun. Brian picked it up and it went off by accident, hitting Kuma. Kuma woged, startling Brian and Roger so badly they dropped the gun, which went off and hit him again.
  • Call-Back:
    • Eve warns Nick that, when the suppression potion wears off, Adalind won't be the same. He reminds her, "Kinda been there, done that."
    • Wu is feeling the aftereffects of being scratched in Lycanthropia.
    • Nick asks Monroe and Rosalee to investigate the tunnels under the loft.
  • Catapult Nightmare: Wu has a nightmare about the forest where he was scratched by a lycanthrope. He finally wakes up and is relieved, but doesn't notice the leaves that have somehow ended up on the rug...
  • If You Ever Do Anything To Hurt Him: Eve stops by the loft to threaten Adalind if she ever hurts Nick.
  • I Owe You My Life: Takeshi Imura kills the Victim of the Week in revenge for the Ikagi's son because Madoka's father saved his life, requiring him to act as a sort of guardian to the family.
  • Katanas Are Just Better: The Victim of the Week is decapitated with a samurai sword after being buried up to his neck. This is part of a Wesen vengeance ritual to doom his soul never to move on.
  • Wait, What?: When Renard and Rachel sleep together, Rachel says it "more than makes up for last time!" Renard, who after all wasn't present for that one, is confused.
  • Wham Shot: Rachel, who has been telling Renard he needs a family to get elected as Mayor, greets him with a surprise: Diana, recovered from Hadrian's Wall by unknown means.
