Life as a Spinnetod.

Instantly, the priestess changed into a monstrous goblin-spider and the warrior found himself caught fast in her web.

Lena Marcinko is a deadly heartbreaker who is on a killing spree. Nick and Hank must find and stop her before another man becomes her victim.

This episode provides examples of:

  • Asshole Victim: The first Victim of the Week is cheating on his girlfriend, and tries to rape Lena before she turns the table.
  • Egging: A couple of Eisbiber kids throw eggs at Nick and Juliette's window. Juliette says that kids do things like that, and that Nick overreacted by running outside with a gun.
  • Fingore: Lena's first victim bites off one of her fingers. When Nick and Hank arrive on the scene hours later, it's still jumpy.
  • Healing Factor: Lena's finger regrows itself in very little time, which puts a crimp in Nick and Hank's case against her.
  • Horrifying the Horror: Monroe explains to Nick that Grimms are the "monster under the bed."
  • Horror Hunger: Spinnetods have to kill three men every five years, or they prematurely age.
  • Irony: Given spiders' ability to spin webs and tangle their prey, Lena is beaten when she gets tangled in a net.
  • Oh, Crap!: Nick very much gets this reception when he goes to the Eisbibers' house to complain about the Egging. He leans into it, demanding that they quit hanging around his house, and tell whoever they told about him the same.
Nick: Alright, here's what you're gonna do. You're going to make sure that whoever you told, and whoever they told, never come to my house again.
Bud: Fine. Sure, we can do that. Right?
John: Of course. You bet. Absolutely!
Nick: Well I hope so. 'Cause I'd hate to have to come back here.
  • Out of Order: A possible example. Nick and Monroe's conversation about the events of Game Ogre sound as if it just happened, rather than a couple of weeks to a month ago as the episode order suggests.
  • Younger Than They Look: Charlotte, the Spinnetod Monroe takes Nick to meet, looks like an elderly woman at twenty-seven because she refuses to give in to the Horror Hunger.
