Song of the Strings

Trouble has gone wrong during a job, leading to Selfira's violin being damaged. The extent of said damages require an expert craftsman to repair, which none exist in the crew and the typical island she goes to for repairs is too far from their current location.

Remembering the time when Caro's instrument was repaired, Elta suggests heading to the nearby Perfetto Island, which the crew agrees to. By circumstance, they arrived during the middle of a music festival and eventually found themselves acquainted with someone connected to Caro.

Tropes

  • The Atoner: After everything is done, Caro decides to go back to his slumber for his punishment, only to be stopped by the artist and his son.
  • Comically Small Demand: One of Cantate's issues is that she values her work less that what it should normally be. To give an example, Selfira guesses that Cantate's violin is worth one million rupies. The actual price is 200,000 rupies, 80% cheaper in comparison.
  • Easily Forgiven: Despite bringing disaster back in Together in Song, the island inhabitants still appreciate the arts and honor Caro.
  • Honor Before Reason: Cantate places her prices low since she wants her creation to be affordable and accessible, clashing with the others saying that creations with superior quality like hers need to have proper prices that reflect it.
  • Pro Bono Barter: Ultimately subverted, while Cantate repaired Selfira's violin pro bono, she eventually learns that money has its values and accepts payment for the repairs.
  • Spotting the Thread: When the instruments begin playing on their own, the artist notices the miracle is applied to Selfira and Elta as well, especially with the latter not being a violinist. This leads to him finding out that Caro came back.
