Fiery Soul: Dreamer's Miracle

Meet Lauphit, an Erune born and raised in Namvia with comedy playing a big role on his life, following down that same path to reverse his family's poor conditions. Things look bright for the upcoming star, only for his partner abruptly deciding to split up, throwing Lauphit into despair.

After finding himself in more trouble after stepping out of his home, Lauphit eventually gets rescued by the crew of the Grandcypher, who are also headed to Namvia. With the crew being his first experience of the outside world, Lauphit restarts his career by dragging a new partner with him, Juri Eckard.

Tropes

  • Appropriated Appellation: When deciding the name for the pair, Lauphit chooses Fiery Soul, in relation to Galston's words about Juri's fiery spirit.
  • Bait-and-Switch: While Lauphit lays out his background with the crew, he brings up one line suggesting tragedy fell on to his family. Said tragedy is the threat of running out of jokes. Juri and Farrah lampshades how anti-climatic that was.
  • Boke and Tsukkomi Routine: The manzai routine is considered a staple in the island of West Varia with the most famed contest being the King of Manzai Awards hosted at The Namvia Theater of Performing Arts. Localization refers to the roles as "the fool" and "the foil" respectively.
  • Cheaters Never Prosper: The contest is rigged in favor of Heavenly Goods. This leads to the contest ending with Heavenly Goods being disqualified after being found out and Fiery Soul refusing the prize, wanting to earn it though their merits instead.
  • False Friend: The whole time, Renvauro sees Lauphit more like a leech than an actual partner. While Lauphit is partially glad that Renvauro stuck through despite this, he still hates the Harvin for cheating either way.
  • Freudian Excuse: The Namvia Theater of Performing Arts has not been doing well due to fierce competition, leading to the theater creating fake hype for Heavenly Goods by rigging the result. They're ultimately found out, leading to the theater being audited.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: Part of Renvauro's charm is his usage of anger and his contrasting stature as a Harvin to draw in a crowd. His fight with Juri soured his mood and negatively affected his performance at the finals, causing the collusion to become more apparent to the audience.
  • Performance Anxiety: Because this is Juri's first time acting on stage and is completely out of his element as a soldier, he starts off very nervous. Fortunately, the audience enjoys his performance, leading to Fiery Soul taking second place for the qualifiers.
  • Second Place Is for Winners: Lauphit chooses to keep second place, despite the judges offering a first place victory after Heavenly Goods's disqualification. He still manages to be popular enough to get gigs either way.
  • Wacky Parent, Serious Child: Discussed. Galston tells Juri that much of his unit's wacky antics and traditions originated from Juri's father, shocking the young man himself as much of his experience as a soldier is him following the textbook example.
