On a long and dusty road in the American west Golgo 13 pulls into a tiny roadside motel amid reports of a casino being robbed and both suspects still being at large. After checking in Golgo has a meal and then retires to his room for the day, having clearly stopped by for a job of some kind... but what? Meanwhile, a local boy named Hank returns home along with an accomplice who sneaks inside while he's chatting with his family. Could this have anything to do with the robbed casino? Something very strange is definitely going on in this little backwoods pitstop and its up to Golgo to get to the bottom of it.
- Against the Setting Sun: The final showdown between Golgo and the sheriff the true villain behind the casino robbery happens right before sundown at a small shack on the edge of the highway. Afterwards, Golgo drives off into the sunset as the episode ends.
- Bittersweet Ending: Hank's own blind mother shoots him dead by accident, but is told by his sister that she shot the other guy instead and that Hank left unharmed. Afterwards, Hank's accomplice is killed by the sheriff, who was the mastermind behind the whole thing and, finally, the sheriff is killed by Golgo himself after a brief showdown.
- Boom, Headshot!: The sheriff is killed with a headshot during his duel with Golgo at the end of the episode.
- My God, What Have I Done?: Hank's mother has this reaction when she shoots him by mistake but his sister quickly manages to convince her that he ran away after she shot his partner, who was the one that actually got away.
- Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Hank's mother attempting to confront him and his partner only leads to her accidentally shooting her own son in the back by mistake, killing him and letting his partner escape in the commotion.
- Outliving One's Offspring: Hank's own mother accidentally ends up killing him with a shot to the back, though his sister manages to convince her that she shot his partner instead.
- You Have Outlived Your Usefulness: After showing up at a remote shack with the stolen casino money Hank's partner is shot dead by the sheriff, who then attempts to take all the cash for himself. Golgo then kills him before he can make his getaway.
