Recap / Glitch Techs S 1 E 7 Collection Quest

Go To

  • Gory Discretion Shot: When Sabrina is about to jump onto the turtles, the screen fizzles before the damage is seen.
  • Insistent Terminology: Nica insists that there are only apps on phones, even though video games on phones are apps themselves.
  • Loophole Abuse:
    • As long as she doesn't have much knowledge of what Glitch Techs do, Nica can keep her memories of their adventure.
    • Miko and Nica have exploited this trope multiple times on their bonding dates, with one becoming put off by the other's chosen activity and leaving to do their own thing, and the two later reuniting and pretending to have had a good time together. Subverted in this episode when their mom, having figured out (or at least suspected) them to be doing this, takes this away from them by forcing them to take and send selfies of themselves together every ten minutes, or else be grounded.
  • Not So Above It All: Nica is revealed to have a video game/app on her phone called Crystal Crush. Miko later reveals that Nica is the reason she's into video games in the first place.
  • Shout-Out: "You look like you lost a fight with a 100 foot marshmallow!"
  • Surprisingly Realistic Outcome:
    • The episode shows a scenario of what would it be like if the witness isn't memory wiped about the glitches. In this case, a young girl named Sabrina started stomping on real turtles, much to her mother's shock.
    • Nica's fear of being seen by other teenagers messing herself up is justified.
  • Tempting Fate: Five and Bergy didn't mind wipe Sabrina as they believe she can't do any harm with her knowledge of the turtle glitch. As soon as they left the pet store, she started stomping on real turtles.
  • You Are Grounded!: Mayumi threatens Miko and Nica with this if she doesn't see photo evidence of them bonding every ten minutes.
  • You Didn't Ask: When Nica has Crystal Crush as an app on her cellphone.
Miko: I thought you weren't into games.
    Nica: It's an app, Miko.

While Bergy tries to come up with a last-minute plan, he, Miko and Nica are depicted as super-deformed for comedic effect.
