• Bee Afraid: Pete discovers that he can leave the property when he gets spooked by a bee, despite Nigel reminding him that it would just pass through him harmlessly.
• Brick Joke: When Pete describes using a bus to get home, Isaac says he could have done that, and Sass asks him to describe a bus. Isaac is lost in thought as the conversation continues. A couple of minutes later as the conversation is ending, he chimes in with a description of a bus as being “red with a fire hose.” Sass says "that's a fire truck."
  • When asked where Carol is the main cast mention she's been hooking up with a basement ghost. At the end of the episode we find out it was Nancy.
• Follow Your Nose: Jay toasts a marshmallow in an attempt to get Pete, who is angry about being abandoned in town and not speaking to anybody, into the kitchen, where Sam and some of the ghosts can apologize and talk to him about his ordeal. It works. Sam even spots Pete's nose sticking through the door, unable to resist the sweet smell.
• The Homeward Journey: Pete's efforts to get back to Woodstone, as well as Sam's and Jay's efforts to retrieve him.
• Identity Amnesia: In a typical Flower moment, as she is describing the basis of their new thruple with Nancy with Thor, Flower remarks, "You (points at self), me (points at Nancy) and Nancy (points at Thor)."
• Innocently Insensitive: More than once Jay holds out his car keys and shakes them to let Pete know when they're going. Sass calls Jay out on this saying "Dude, we aren't pets."
• Lampshade Hanging: Carol's absence is noted by the other ghosts, who talk about how she's been shacking up with other ghosts around the property and so hasn't spent much time around the main cast.
• Out of Focus: This is the third episode in a row where Carol doesn’t appear. This time, her absence is noted by the other ghosts.
• Retail Riot: At the store, Pete meets two ghosts who died trampled during a Black Friday sale.
• Three-Way Sex: After the revelation that Thorfinn slept with Nancy, Flower decides that the best solution would be for the three of them to be in a relationship together. Trevor is into it, while Alberta calls it “ a train wreck waiting to happen.”
• Wham Episode:
  • Pete's ghost power and its implications.
  • Cholera ghost Nancy has been having an affair with Pete's ex-wife Carol.
• What Happened to the Mouse?: Discussed. Trevor asked about Carol and it is revealed that Carol has been intimate with a basement ghost, and later with British ghost Baxter.
