• Call-Back: The argument Pete and Carol have on whether or not doughnut holes come from the same machine as doughnuts in “Dumb Deaths”, is mentioned again in as Carol unexpectedly turns up at Sam and Jay’s Halloween Party.
• Chekhov's Gun: Back in the episode "Ghost Father of the Bride," the gang finds Crash's head in an unfamiliar part of the forest. Hettie makes the comment that, if she had done it, she would have "waited for a moonless night and dropped it into the inky waters of the old well on the other side of the property. If I had done it, no one would have ever found him." Not looking too good for Flower.
• Late to the Realization: It takes both Carol and Sam a long while to realize the former is a ghost now.
• Not Now, Kiddo: Hetty and Alberta try to warn Sam that Carol is a ghost, but she waves them away because they weren't supposed to talk to her while at the party. So Hetty and Alberta decide to just let Sam make a fool of herself by talking to the unseen Carol in front of the other guests.
• The Reveal: Flower was never "sucked off". She simply had fallen down a well in a remote part of the property and can't get out.
• You Can See Me?: Not realizing Carol is now a ghost, Alberta, Hetty, Trevor and Sasappis react this way when Carol comments on their clothes, which she thinks are Halloween costumes, and touches both Hetty and Trevor.
• Your Costume Needs Work: Carol thinks the other ghosts are just guests in costume.
• Wham Episode: For a whole lot of reasons!
  • Pete's widow Carol dies and is now a ghost in the mansion.
  • Flower wasn't the one who ascended at the end of the last season and is trapped in a well.
  • And the question returns: Who was the ghost that got sucked off?
