Recap / Full House S 5 E 21 The Trouble With Danny

Go To

"The Trouble With Danny" is an episode in the fifth season of Full House.

It's spring cleaning day at the Tanner house. But when the family starts the vent about Danny's neat-freakiness, they unintentionally hurt his feelings.

Tropes:

  • Gosh Dang It to Heck!: Subverted. Danny says the show's strongest use of profanity: "Jackass".
  • Ironic Echo: During the family's rant, Joey calls Danny "a psycho with a dust mop", later when Michelle expresses concern for her father, he says the same thing, which causes the family to realize they're responsible for his change in behavior.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: The family reacts this way when Danny calls himself a psycho with a dust mop, making them realize it's their fault he's acting this way.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business:
    • One of the first things Danny does when he returns home is to immediately make a mess. This causes the family to know something's wrong.
    • Played for Laughs early in the episode when Jesse actually agrees with Kimmy as she voices her opinion he finds agreeable despite being no fan of Kimmy after she sees the Tanner family cleaning the house.
Kimmy: What's wrong with you people? How can you get this house any cleaner? It's already the cleanest house in America.
Jesse: For the first time, Gibbler is actually making sense.
Kimmy: It had to happen sometime.
  • Right Behind Me: Played for Drama, as the entire Tanner family — sans Danny — gather in one of the bedrooms upstairs to express their irritation towards Danny on "Spring Cleaning Day", unaware that Danny, who's putting up new wallpaper inside the closet in said bedroom at the time, has taken in his family's grievance towards him through it all, as evidenced by him leaving the closet after everyone else has left the room.
