Everyone Has Standards: MacDuff may be willing to kidnap potential matches for his daughters just to keep them from marrying the MacNeil brothers and threaten to shoot the MacNeils for daring to romance his daughters, but when said daughters shield them with their bodies and announce that their father will have to shoot them before killing the men they love, he can't bring himself to harm his own kin and this helps him realize the errors of his grudge and he allows them to marry the men they chose.
Feuding Families: The Clan MacDuff has a century-old feud with the Clan MacNeil, which seems to have started all the way back when an ancestor of the latter insulted the Angus MacDuff women's appearance.
Mistaken for Thief: The MacNeil brothers who, after a fight with Angus MacDuff run way with the money Casey had lent to them (nd the rest of the circus finanes theydidn't realize they took with them), which MacDuff takes advantage of to accuse them of having stolen the money and knocked Casey unconscious, which he himself had done when he tried to punch them and hit Casey instead.
The Ugly Guy's Hot Daughter: Angus MacDuff is an old curmudgeon grump but all six of his daughters are babes, something the Clan MacDuff is known to produce. Tony is briefly tempted to accept the offer to marry one of them, if not for Ben's insistence and the fact that the two unmarried ones are already in love with men from the rival Clan MacNeil.
Violent Glaswegian: Angus MacDuff, especially as far as his hatred of the MacNeils is concerned.
