Frasier strives to make a new friend, but gets more than what he bargained for when a handicapped man named Bob answers his call.

- Continuity Nod: Frasier mentions that the only friends he can think of are people he knew back in Boston.
- The Hilarity of Hats: Bob likes to wear gaudy Tam O'Shanters and gives one to Frasier so they'll match. Frasier with his more refined sense of dress is, naturally, horrified by it.
- Limited Social Circle: This week's plot kicks off when Frasier finds himself with two tickets to an event that Niles and Martin can't attend. Frasier realises he hasn't really made any friends in Seattle and sets out to change that.
- Made Out to Be a Jerkass: When Frasier, in the most polite way mind you, tries to tell Bob his issues with him but was too polite to mention them because of his paralyses, Bob takes offense as he assumes Frasier doesn't like handicapped people and the other patrons glare at him as they think the same thing.
