Frasier attempts to become a full professor. David goes crazy when he receives a B on a test.
Tropes:
- The B Grade: David's side-plot revolves around him trying to get his uncle to changing his B-Grade.
- Bait-and-Switch Comment: When Olivia comes back into the bar after the lukewarm meeting with Sharma she says to Frasier, "Well, Professor Crane...is what I will not be calling you anytime soon."
- Designated Driver: David drives a drunk Freddy to his dorm in hopes of using Freddy's alcohol-induced intellect to write about P.F. Skinner.
- Education Mama: David sees his father (Niles) as this fearing that Niles will send him to the University of Pennsylvania if he does not get a perfect score on every one of his tests.
- Shout-Out: One of Freddy's friends compares him to "the candle from that movie".
- Take That!: David says that Niles calls The University of Pennsylvania a Trade School.
- Tempting Fate: Whenever Frasier tries to insist to the Harvard Board Head, Provost Sharma, that he isn't a barfly, many of his associates and family members show up to greet him.
