"You wanna know why Doozers get hiccups?"
Put on Support Squad A with Turbo and his gang, the coolest Doozers around, Wrench finds himself getting hiccups, the most serious disease a Doozer can have, from doing too much flooping, or bouncing up and down. Wrench refuses to floop any more, which gets him ostracized from the squad. Later, on a construction site underneath the Doozer Dome, everyone on Support Squad A—except Wrench—catches the hiccups, causing the construction to fall on Turbo. Wrench helps him out, and they become friends.

This episode contains examples of:

  • Continuity Nod: Turbo and the other members of Support Squad A, after seeing Wembley bouncing on his pogo stick, use their hydraulic temperers to do the same. Fraggles were seen bouncing on pogo sticks in "Uncle Matt Comes Home."
  • Cowardly Lion: Wrench, who's quite timid but learns to stand on his own two feet at the end.
  • A Day in the Limelight: The episode centers on Wrench.
  • Heartfelt Apology: Turbo pressures Wrench into flooping and gets him kicked off the squad when the latter says he'll tell the Architect that Support Squad A had the hiccups. At the end, after he's been rescued from under the construction, Turbo apologizes to Wrench, tells him he's rev after all, and offers to be friends. Wrench accepts.
  • Hiccup Hijinks: To Doozers, hiccups are the worst ailment imaginable because it impedes their ability to work. Cotterpin explains to Wrench that they are caused by bouncing up and down, which is what "flooping" is all about. It gets Played for Drama when Turbo and his friends hiccup so hard, they cause the structure they're working on to fall on Turbo.
  • In with the In Crowd: Wrench gets put on Support Squad A, then is pressured by Turbo to floop with the others because it's "rev," or "cool."
  • Ironic Echo: Earlier on, Turbo had told Wrench, "Support Squad A does not worry about dangerous." At the end of the episode, while pushing Turbo in a wheelchair, Wrench gives him one of these.
Turbo: You know, Wrench, you don't think rev, you don't talk rev, you don't act rev—why, you don't even look rev!
Wrench: I know, Turbo. But if being rev means being like you, then Wrench Doozer doesn't worry about rev!
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Turbo, who pressures Wrench into flooping and gets him kicked off the squad, but later apologizes and offers to be friends.
  • The Leader: Turbo, the head of Support Squad A.
  • Lower-Deck Episode: Another episode revolving around the Doozers.
  • Mundane Made Awesome: Subverted. After spying on some of the Fraggles and seeing Wembley bouncing on his pogo stick, Turbo finds a new use for the Doozers' hydraulic temperers. But the resulting hiccups, which Turbo and his friends eventually get, are anything but awesome—especially when a construction falls on him.
  • Narrator: Wrench, writing a Voiceover Letter (see below) about his ostracism from Support Squad A.
  • Neologism: The Doozers use the word "rev," which means "cool."
  • Nice Guy: Wrench, helping Turbo, who had ostracized him from Support Squad A.
  • The Only One: Wrench becomes dizzy from the hiccups he gets from flooping. When they finally go away, he refuses to keep flooping and gets ostracized by Turbo and his gang. Wrench ends up being the only member of Support Squad A not hiccuping at the construction site under the Doozer Dome.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: At the end of the episode, Turbo has become a lot nicer to Wrench.
  • Toxic Friend Influence: Turbo pressures Wrench into flooping with Support Squad A. Even though Wrench tells him how dangerous bouncing up and down is, Turbo says that if Wrench doesn't floop, he's not rev.
Wrench: But, Turbo, bouncing up and down gives Doozers the hiccups!
Turbo: Oh, yeah? Support Squad A does not worry about hiccups.
    Unnamed Doozers: Uh-uh!
    Wrench: But hiccups are dangerous!
Turbo: So? Support Squad A does not worry about dangerous.
    Unnamed Doozers: Uh-uh!
  • Trend Aesop: Going along with the crowd can have downsides—and dangers.
  • Voiceover Letter: The episode starts with Wrench, who has just been ostracized from Support Squad A, recording the entire incident in a letter, hoping that whoever winds up reading it will learn his side of the story, as well as the dangers of flooping.
  • Whole Episode Flashback: Most of this episode is a series of flashbacks showing the events leading to Wrench's ostracism.
