Original Air Date: November 22, 2017

With the Soma vs. Eizan Shokugeki in progress and corrupt judges in Eizan's favor, the Polaris residents must protect the dorms from Eizan's goons.

This episode provides examples of:

  • Adaptation Expansion:
    • The additional comments about the preparations are also provided by Ikumi and the Aldini brothers while watching the broadcasting.
  • Badass Boast: After defeating Eizan, Soma took the broadcast camera to give a sound warning to Central to never mess with him or his dormmates, challenging the Elite Ten directly.
  • Break Out the Museum Piece: After the Polar Star residents decide to fight off Eizan’s goons and protect their home, Fumio gets them the gear from the Golden Age, because it turns out that in Gin and Jouichirou’s generation, the residents had to protect the dormitory from people who envied their resources. They were equipped with helmets, tear gas bombs, shields, and firehoses.
  • Heel Realization: Erina reflects that the Polaris dorm is the first place where nobody followed her word blindly and instead experimented with their own guts by bouncing ideas between everyone, making her realize that she could still learn more from cooking.
  • History Repeats: When the residents refuse to give up while Soma is fighting Eizan by himself, Fumio decides to give them protective gear she had stored from the Golden Age. Once again, the Polar Star has a generation full of strong people willing to stand up for themselves.
  • Honor Before Reason: Despite already having their minds set on voting against him, the level of Soma's dish was so powerful that the corrupt judges couldn't deny the deserving votes, especially after Soma explains that the idea of his dish was born from the brainstorming between the Polaris residents.
  • Impossibly Delicious Food:
    • Etsuya Eizan's Hainan Ji Fan presents the filets of Satsuma Jidori Chicken, with jasmine rice cooked with the chicken's broth and three special sauces of Chili, Ginger and Siew Dam. The judges, Soma and Rindou are blown away after the first bite from the richness of the chicken.
    • On the other hand, Soma took the lead by surprising the judges with his Cheese-Feathered Hanetsuki Gyōza. Contrary to their expectations about the parmesan cheese and the pork filling overshadowing the chicken's flavor, it turns out they amplified the chicken along with the secret ingredient: Ketchup, since the acidic sauce served as a bridge to cut the fat of both ingredients that otherwise would clash with the chicken. Both Eizan and the judges couldn't resist or deny the superiority of this dish.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Rindou's main purpose in the setting is to provide reaction shots to the food.
  • Nobody Calls Me "Chicken"!: As his first step in his plan to rerail the Shokugeki, Soma teases Eizan by casually mentioning his surprise at Eizan actually being able to cook at all. As the final stroke, Soma challenges him to taste his dish... unless he is too scared. It works like a charm, which results in the judges being tempted into trying his dish.
