Shokugeki no Soma OVA 3: Autumn Moon's Chance Encounter

Autumn Moon's Chance Encounter is an OVA episode for the anime series Shokugeki no Soma. It mainly follows everyone's vacation after completing their Stagiaire. The episode was released alongside the limited edition version of Volume 24.
This episode provides examples of:
- Butt-Monkey: Takumi full on during this episode. He doesn't get a chance to challenge Soma, feels excluded from the fishing challenge when Soma takes off with Ryou and Akira without inviting him too, and gets lost in the woods until Soma was already done fishing.
- Female Gaze: Not only we get a lot of naked girls, all the boys get their own scenes in the hot springs.
- Filler: The entire OVA is an original plot made for the anime. It takes place between the end of Staigiare and before Soma and the others meet the Elite Ten.
- Furo Scene: It wouldn't be a visit to the Onsen if it didn't have at least one of these with both the girls and the boys.
- Heroes Gone Fishing: On top of the Onsen visit, the subplot has Soma, Ryou and Akira setting to catch the biggest fish of the mountain. They fail to do so.
- Hot Springs Episode: The entire premise revolves around Megumi inviting all her friends to the onsen where she did her Stagiaire. Coincidentally, Erina, Alice and Hisako are going there on their own too.
- Impossibly Delicious Food: Without knowing about it, Erina praised the food at the inn, which was prepared by the Polaris residents (sans Soma and Isshiki), Isami and Ikumi. Megumi later felt accomplished by finding out this from Erina.
- Male Gaze: It wouldn't be Shokugeki no Soma without naked girls and bouncing boobs.
- Pragmatic Adaptation:
- Since the ping pong gag had to be adapted out from Season 2, it was inserted here. This time, Isshiki only wins against Megumi because she got distracted by answering to the hostess.
- Instead of Ryoko playing against Soma, it's her vs Ikumi instead, so viewers can get double breast bounce.
- The omake gag of Isshiki walking behind a pole and appearing on his fundoshi is also inserted here. The main difference is that Takumi is the only one weirded out by this (in the manga, both Takumi and Soma get startled while Megumi dismissed that as common occurrence, while here, Soma is the one having Megumi's reaction).
