Gary and Quinn try to save the team from the Lord Commander's grasp. Meanwhile, the Lord Commander takes an interest in Ash and tries to have her join him.

- Call-Back: As they were next for Invictus to feed on, Little Cato asks his father if it hurt when he was possessed by Invictus.
- After successfully turning his robot hand into a blaster, Gary lands several consecutive headshots on the Lord Commander, destroying half of his skull. It took him two seasons, but Gary finally did manage to murder the Lord Commander's face off! Unfortunately, due to Invictus' powers keeping him alive, it doesn't stick.
- Curb-Stomp Battle: Lord Commander absolutely brutalizes Ash in their brief fight.
- Downer Ending: Quinn and Gary manage to rescue the crew sans Fox who is taken over by Invictus. As she breaks down crying, Ash sees the Lord Commander's ship approaching.
- Fingore: When fighting against the Lord Commander, Ash's fingers are horrifically bent back and broken.
- Good Thing You Can Heal: As a result of Invictus removing his limitations, the Lord Commander can regenerate from his injuries.
- I Will Only Slow You Down: When Invictus is slowly approaching the Team Squad to possess them like it did with Avocato last season, Fox tells Ash it is too late to save him and to just leave him.
- "Not So Different" Remark: The Lord Commander tries to convince Ash that they were both "chosen" despite the fact that Ash couldn't save her sister and had to kill her own parents.
- Skewed Priorities: Tribore takes the effort he could put towards fighting off the Slyvan army and instead puts it towards bartering with the merchant and demanding he word his pleas for salvation to him in a specific way.
- Villain Takes an Interest: After seeing Ash's powers, the Lord Commander becomes interested in making her his protégé and spends the episode trying to coax her to his side.
- Wham Episode: The Team Squad is reunited at last, but Quinn doesn't have much longer until her poisoning kills her, and Fox is left behind to be taken by Invictus, on top of Ash getting her hands horribly mangled and having to deal with the revelation of the horrid source of her powers.
- You Have Failed Me: Invictus berates the Lord Commander for allowing "the key" to escape, stating that he was wrong to entrust the Lord Commander with that task.
- Your Days Are Numbered: HUE informs Quinn that she has thirty-six hours before she succumbs to her Final Space poisoning.
