Through the desert of Pico De Valley, Chase and the gang head towards the settlement of Dusty Town, to find the recipe for "Salsa Especial", a Salsa that can cure ailing Foodons. The protagonists make it to Dusty Town and are quick to find that the residents, especially Mayor Slim Rations, don't take kindly for people trying to steal their Salsa, and throw the Gang into prison until they get a background check. It's also revealed that the residents treat their Foodons poorly, and routinely beat them if demands aren't met.
The gang's stay in prison doesn't last long, as a heard of buffalo breaks down the prison wall, followed by Tacquito, a Mexican taco Foodon and leader of an all Foodon gang: the "Foodon Banditos". Tacquito attempts to steal a safe containing the Salsa Especial, and vows to free the Foodons of Dusty Town with it. His plan is foiled by Sheriff Zuke Squash, Slim Rations and the other Dusty Town residents, and flees empty handed.
