With only a few days left until Elena’s Coronation, she is forced to take a much-needed day off.
Tropes:
- Call-Back: The joke from "The Incredible Shrinking Royals" about Julio correcting Doña Paloma about her being the assistant to the Magister and not the Assistant Magister is brought back with him being her Assistant Party Planner and not the assistant to the Party Planner.
- Character Development: Doña Paloma shows that her epiphany from "Crash Course" has stuck. She does not get stubborn over a showy napkin fold that may offend King Toshi (in fact she remembered that it would be offensive and corrected that mistake on her own), displays much helpfulness in helping Elena set up for her coronation, and assures Julio that he is her Assistant Party Planner.
- Chekhov's Gun: The mud, water, and jet skis are used to help smoothen the bridge after Elena wrecks it.
- Continuity Nod:
- Elena promises to make sure Ixlan won't blow up the fountain again.
- Elena's anxiety on making sure the Coronation Day preparations go well is similar to Rebecca's behavior in "Festival of Lights".
- Crazy-Prepared: Elena evidently wants to make sure absolutely everything goes well for her coronation, up to and including making a battle strategy map that involves staying up all night making mini sculptures of Ash, Esteban, and Tziloco (which are surprisingly detailed).
- Disaster Dominoes: Elena's anxiety over making sure the Coronation Day preparations are in order results in her magic ruining the preparations and then destroying part of the bridge. Fortunately, it is all fixed in due time.
- End-of-Series Awareness: There are three days left until Coronation Day.
- Fish out of Temporal Water: Since Ixlan doesn't understand what a Girl's Day is, and doesn't understand that not everything is a competition, she has to be filled in. She also doesn't quite understand how Elena's emotion magic works.
- Foreshadowing: Elena is paranoid that something will go wrong on the day of her coronation.
- Graceful Ladies Like Purple: Ixlan thinks Elena looks better in purple.
- Involuntary Dance: With her anxiety-induced magic, Elena makes Naomi, Isa, and Ixlan dance ballet, which she hated when she was a kid.
- Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: If Isabel and Nami had never made any remarks about what could go wrong, it wouldn't have made Elena more anxious than she already was.
- The Perfectionist: Elena's insistence on making sure everything goes well for Coronation Day despite Naomi and Isa attempting to get her to relax leads to her accidentally ruining the preparations.
- Prop Recycling: The animation model for the royal lake house is reused from the Gutierrez house in "All Kingdoms Fair".
- The Reveal: Elena's coronation will take place on the same day as her birthday.
- Shout-Out: The joke from The Office (US) about the difference between "the assistant to the [position]" and "the [position] assistant" returns.
- Stating the Simple Solution: Elena wants to invite King Hector to her coronation, but cannot find a royal he could sit with, particularly Queen Abigail, because he's so disliked. It's later shown via a Scepter vision that Doña Paloma has plans to give him his own table.
- This Is Going to Suck: Naomi and Isa have this reaction when Elena's dress turns purple, meaning her emotion magic is kicking in.
