Chapter 27: Beyond the Sea
Tropes That Appear In This Chapter:
- Best Served Cold: Literally the only thing that keeps Dagur from ending it all is his desire for vengeance against everyone who wronged him (the list of which growing into everyone he ever knew in his life).
- Companion Cube: Starving for any form of human interaction, Dagur names his axe "Axel" and makes it his friend. Naturally, he gets into an argument with it and throws it out to sea, later believing that "Axel" abandoned him like everyone else in his life.
- Go Mad from the Isolation: Dagur spends months alone at sea with nowhere to go. While Dagur wasn't exactly stable to begin with, here he really starts losing it.
- Sequel Hook: Dagur is rescued by Drago Bludvist, who offers him a place in his Northern Alliance with the promise of sweet revenge against Hiccup and the Madrigals. Word of God confirms that this will lead into the official sequel The Dragon and the Butterfly: Whiteout.
