Chapter 19: Twilight Terror: Part 2

Tropes That Appear In This Chapter:

  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Despite having them outnumbered and their dragons tied down with bolas, the Madrigals all manage to beat Dagur's war party.
  • Groin Attack: Isabela's first attack is conjuring a bushel of cactuses, getting several crotch-shots in.
  • Internal Reveal: During his Redemption Rejection, Dagur unwittingly reveals that he didn't kill his father. He just disappeared and Dagur stepped in, having spread the rumor that he performed a Klingon Promotion.
  • Redemption Rejection: After Dagur is beat and ends up confessing his Freudian Excuse, Mirabel tries talking to him while he's vulnerable. All Dagur gets out of it is that he has to try harder to kill them.
  • Self-Damaging Attack Backfire: When Dagur tries striking Luisa down with his sword, all it manages to do is destroy the sword.
  • Villainous Breakdown: In typical Dagur fashion, he has a breakdown when he starts losing to the Madrigals.
Luisa: This is your chance to run.
Dagur: That's not how this works! You're supposed to be running from me! You're the runner! I'm the one who makes you run!
Mirabel: Y'know... saying something over and over doesn't make it true.
