In spite of the compromises that have had to be made in their lives, Krillin is certain he and 18 can take the next step somehow.

It's been three years since they began dating, and Krillin and 18 are still living at Kame House with Master Roshi. 18 is tired of his perversion and wants to move, but it turns out that she has a far more important reason to want a new living situation.

We need to get you some tropes:

  • Actor Allusion: Tony is voiced by TFS resident furry KaiserNeko.
  • Affectionate Nickname: 18 now calls Krillin "Shortstack".
  • Art Evolution: Thanks to the roughly 3 1/2 year gap, the character models are of significantly higher quality than they were in previous episodes. Additionally, this episode uses traditional rendering similar to HFIL rather than the cel shading of previous episodes.
  • Babies Make Everything Better: After 18 breaks the news to Krillin that she's pregnant with their baby and expresses her worries about how this might affect their relationship and finding employment, Krillin tells her that this only makes him even happier than he already was with her.
  • Call-Back: 18 is shown to still owe 17 that tiger that was mentioned last episode.
  • Call-Forward: One of the ways Krillin suggests they make enough money to leave Roshi's island is by entering the next World Martial Art's Tournament but notes the next one won't be for another four years. Which sets up Krillin and 18's participation in said Tournament and 18's desire to extort money from Mr. Satan.
  • Coitus Interruptus: A flashback shows Krillin and 18 trying to get busy, only to see Roshi was filming them. It's implied he succeeded, though 18 broke the resulting DVD.
  • Continuity Nod: Upon seeing the lingerie Roshi got 18 for her birthday, Krillin mentions the ones that Roshi made him wear during his training, much to 17 and 18's bewilderment.
  • Dirty Old Man: The extent of this trope with Master Roshi is expanded upon, as he casually walks around naked in Kame House even in front of 18 and Krillin. And then he asks 18 how long it will be before her breasts start getting bigger now that she's pregnant.
  • Double Entendre: Roshi's title for Krillin and 18's sex tape is "Under 18 and perfectly legal".
  • Double-Meaning Title: The title can refer to both 18 and Krillin living together with Roshi and the fact that 18 and Krillin are going to be parents.
  • Exact Words: 17 is mad because he is building an island nature reserve, and needed 18 to get him a male tiger. But she sent him a tiger man named Tony instead.
17: STOP DROPPING FURRIES ON MY ISLAND!
  • Foreshadowing: Krillin mentions that the World Martial Arts Tournament is 4 years away. Given the fact that the official timeline has Marron being around 3 at that time...
  • Hand on Womb: 18 moves her hand to her stomach after blurting out that she's pregnant with Marron and talking about the difficulties of looking for a job when she'd have to ask for maternity leave mere months after starting.
  • "Just Joking" Justification: 18 suggests simply stealing a new house, then passes it off as a joke (mostly) when Krillin complains.
  • Made Myself Sad: Krillin points out that he and 18 would have no problem winning a World Martial Art's Tournament since Goku wouldn't be competing, only to upset himself upon being reminded of his best friend's death.
  • Moment Killer: Roshi is really cruisin' for a bruisin' courtesy of 18. One has to wonder how he's survived this long.
  • My Secret Pregnancy: Downplayed. 18 had known she was pregnant for around a week before telling Krillin. She wasn't sure how to break it to him because she didn't want to shake up their status quo. Krillin very quickly assuaged any concerns she might've had.
  • Naked People Are Funny: Fitting for his nature as a Dirty Old Man, Roshi spends the entire present scenes nude, under the rationale that morning nudity helps his flow. He is clothed in a flashback at Lazuli and Lapis' birthday.
  • Now What?: Neither Krillin nor 18 have much in the way of actual work experience, since Krillin was trained as a monk, and 18 is an enhanced human who Gero brainwashed her into learning only killing techniques and making sweet potato pie. And as The Reveal showed, resorting to hard labor has its own complication.note
  • One Drink Will Kill the Baby: Lazuli refuses the chocolate chip pancakes Roshi is making because they are high in THC and doesn't want to risk the harm to her unborn child.
  • Pixellation: Played for Laughs. There is an actual box of pixellation floating in front of Roshi's crotch that even turns with him.
  • The Reveal: 18 reveals to Krillin that she is pregnant. Which is the real primary reason why she wants to move out of Kame House. Especially if the baby is a girl.
  • Shout-Out: The tiger man 18 sends 17 is named Tony, in reference to cereal mascot Tony the Tiger. 17 and 18 lampshade this.
    Tony: Name's Tony.
17: His name's Tony! Wait, seriously?
18: Tony is a pretty common name.
  • Skewed Priorities: When 18 brings up Roshi secretly recording a sex tape of her and Krillin, Krillin at first compliments the production values before she destroys the DVD. He then complains that he was "really good" in that one. 18 agrees, but notes that his performance is beside the point.
  • Surprise Pregnancy: 18 reveals to Krillin that she's pregnant; she's a month along, but she's only known about it for a week. She admits that she's unsure what her unexpected pregnancy would mean for their relationship, but Krillin assures her that he loves her and their unborn baby.
  • Worth It: 18 threatens to murder Roshi if they're still living in Kame House by the time their daughter hits puberty. Roshi just muses that he's lived a good life.note
