The Black Star Dragon Ball arc is the first arc of the Dragon Ball GT anime series.
Main Summary
Years after the events of the Majin Buu arc, Goku is still training Uub to be a strong fighter on Kami's lookout. However Pilaf and his lackeys, Mai and Shu, now much older when we last saw them, infiltrate the lookout to look for the Black Star Dragon Balls, alternate versions of the Dragon Balls that Kami hid away. Just as they start to make a wish on them, Goku comes across them. Pilaf, enraged to see his former enemy again, accidentally wishes Goku was a kid, which the dragon Ultimate Shenron grants. Goku is reverted to a kid and the balls fly out into space. However Goku is later informed that due to the unstable energy of the ball, whatever planet it was wished on will explode unless the balls are retrieved. Bulma builds Goku a ship and it was planned that he, Trunks and Goten (the latter two now teenagers) would undertake the journey. But Gohan and Videl's daughter, Pan, sneaks aboard and prematurely launches the ship, leaving Goten behind. With no choice, Goku, Trunks and Pan begin their journey through space to gather the Black Star Dragon Balls, gaining a robot ally named Giru along the way who absorbs their radar and getting into many misadventures across various planets.

- Denser and Wackier: Coming right on the heels of the very serious Z, this arc is much more lighthearted, with Goku and his friends meeting some very eccentric characters.
- Gotta Catch 'Em All: The theme of this arc, with more urgency as Earth will explode if the Black Star Dragon Balls aren't collected.
- Time Skip: Yet another one, Trunks and Goten are in their twenties and Pan is now a pre-teen.
