Another sealing stone? There must be an traitor among us... what game is this again?
Event date: February 2021, September 2021
Event type: Facility
Facility: Cleansing Fount
Element: Wind
Theme song: SiN - Hollow Dance

Euden and his friends find a little girl out in the woods and escort her to the Northern Grastaea village of Paradise, where her parents were last seen. But when the girl's parents refuse to recognize her, Euden is soon dragged out of town by the apostles Pinon, Faris and Ryszarda. Turns out the latter three are conducting an investigation into a figure known as "Madame", who has the ability to rewrite a person's memories, but that is barely the surface of the rabbit hole of deception the Halidom's finest have fallen into...

This event contains examples of:

  • Boss Battle: Like its prequel event, Otherworld Gabriel has a dedicated boss battle available midway through the event.
  • The Bus Came Back: Pinon returns in a major role for the story of this event.
  • Expy: Madame and the demon she serves are point-for-point expies of Aruhamel/Alzheimer, a demon in service to a Corrupt Church that tampers with memories.
  • Fake Memories: The event revolves around "Madame", who uses the power of a sealing stone to rewrite the memories of those in Paradise in an attempt to revive the demon sealed within. Basileus used this on Pinon in order to eliminate Faris as an obstacle to his plans, but Faris had a counter to that handy.
  • Gory Discretion Shot: The flash of the Cheerful Villager is meant to show that the corpse that's found was hers. Faris learned of Basileus' involvement through her, and the latter killed her to keep anyone else from knowing.
  • His Name Is...: Madame is killed before she could give Harle's true name. It's left unknown if she was poisoned or if her body gave into strain from the demonic possession.
  • I Have Many Names: Harle's name isn't his true name.
  • The Infiltration: Pinon, Faris and Ryszarda had already established themselves in Paradise with Pinon and Faris in the Neighborhood watch and Ryszarda working the farm. Euden joins in alone later on since it would be suspicious for a large group like the rest of the party.
  • Interface Spoiler: Since Faris shows up on the results screen, it's basically guaranteeing he's not The Mole like Basileus claims he is. Those who read the Chapter 17 Interlude should see this coming, though.
  • Laser-Guided Amnesia: Since memories are rewritten, events related to what was lost are dismissed, like when a child's parents refuse to recognize her. Their memories of being parents come back at the end of the event.
  • Late-Arrival Spoiler: You only need to have completed the early parts of Chapter 2 to take on this event, but newcomers who haven't played the game past that point don't even know there's a North Grastaea, let alone much of anything about it.
  • No Ontological Inertia: Downplayed; while Jaldabaoth/Otherworld Gabriel's demise doesn't cleanse anyone her miasma corrupted, exposure to the cleansing fount's sanctified water rapidly restores the memories of those from whom the miasma was expunged.
  • Out of Focus: Every member of the Halidom's finest not named Euden is on assembly duty for a cleansing fount for the entire event. The waters from said fount are meant to purge the miasma scrambling the Paradise citizens' memories, so they still had a vital role.
  • Sequel: This event serves as one to Agents of the Goddess.
  • Wham Line: Basileus drops a huge one about his true objective.
Basileus: My objective lies beyond the curtain of this opening act. For what I seek... is the revival of Satan himself.
