Go To

Japanese name: しずかちゃんが消きえた!? (Shizuka-chan ga Kieta!?)
English translation: "Shizuka-chan Disappeared!?"
Original airdate: May 15, 2009

An ordinary birthday for Shizuka goes wrong when Nobita gifts her with some Transformation Drinks by accident and gets her turned into a cat. Doraemon and the gang must find her in six hours, or she'll never transform into a human again. Shizuka, in her time as a cat, makes friends with a stray cat with a grudge against humans.

This episode contains examples of:

  • Abandoned Pet in a Box: Nora's grudge against humans is because his owner abandoned him in a box in the park when he was young.
  • Abandonment-Induced Animosity: The reason why Nora hates humans; his original owner abandoned him in a park when he was younger.
  • A Birthday, Not a Break: Shizuka learns the hard way that your birthday has no effect on whether fate decides to turn you into a cat and threatens to keep you a cat permanently.
  • Because You Were Nice to Me: Shizuka saves Nora even after he learns she's a human since he rescued her.
  • Construction Zone Calamity: The episode ends in a construction zone with girders falling on Nora, forcing Shizuka to rescue him.
  • Forced Transformation: While the Transformation Drink has to be willingly drunk in order to have the transformer willingly use the effects, this one is unintentional since Nobita gives Shizuka the Transformation Drink by accident. Shizuka transforms into a cat and gets kicked out of the house, so Doraemon and friends go look for her.
  • Meaningful Name: Nora's name means "stray" in Japanese.
  • Reflective Eyes: The cat that causes Shizuka to transform is reflected in her eyes as she looks at it.
