The team deals with the fallout of the Chief's revelations.
Tropes for this episode include:
- Artistic License – Biology: The team orchestrates getting swallowed by Ezekiel in order to be shielded from the radiation blast from the Negative Spirit. The reason cockroaches survive radiation better than most animals is not because their chitin is some kind of magical radiation shielding, but because of their very low rate of cell division.
- Flash Back: Several of them, showing how the Chief was behind what happened to the Patrol.
- Heel Realization: Niles is hit with this as Cliff was supposed to die on the race track, not in a crash that killed his wife and it sinks in how he's been ruining the lives of the team with his secret actions to "help" them.
- Irony: Mr. Nobody has spent most of the season trying to build to an epic Good Vs evil confrontation for the season finale. Instead, he spends part of the finale demoralised and drinking by himself and later with Rita.
- Time Skip: The main narrative takes place nearly a year after the Chief's confession as the team is trying to move on.
- Vengeance Feels Empty: Mr. Nobody is cheering on ruining the Patrol and "nothing can end this." Cut to him drinking himself down and reading "reviews" of his "cliche plot" and realizing how he now has little purpose.
