Recap / Dogs In Space S 2 E 6 Let There Be Loaf

Go To

Virtually every day is a stressful day for Pluto Communications Officer Loaf; whether keeping the crew in check or handling an electric toothbrush.

However, none is more stressful than the day space pirates give him an ultimatum: help them take the M-Bark for themselves or they'll vaporize the crew.

With lives on the line, Loaf must either cooperate, or try to find a way to save his friends in the other side of the galaxy.

Tropes

  • The Greatest Story Never Told: When the Pluto returns, Loaf frantically explains everything that happened. Unfortunately, having known Loaf long enough to remember even the most mundane things can leave him in a panic, no one believes him.
  • Hostage Situation: The Pirates have been tailing the Pluto until they landed on a nearby planet. From there, they keep the crew pinned down while hijacking the comms to speak to Loaf about cooperation. While their ship has become worn down and decrepit, they laser cannons are still pretty accurate enough to shoot down a tiny butterfly from a distance, and warns Loaf they will fire if he warns his friends or step out of line.
  • Poor Communication Kills: Thanks to the Space Pirates, Loaf has to juggle with between helping them and guiding the crew through a hostile planet.
  • Took a Level in Badass: Right as Loaf lets the Space Pirates in, Stella tells him to step up, inspiring him to stop them. Luckily, he already learned that the pirates' ship is incredibly old, so defeating them wasn't too much of a challenge, even by himself.
  • Skewed Priorities: A pair of security dogs leave their post to find a balloon popper (Loaf) who had popped a magician's baloon.
