The 1993 title card

Friend Like Me is the 11th volume of the Disney's Sing-Along Songs direct-to-video series. Hosted by Jiminy Cricket and the subject is about friendship. Inspired by Aladdin.

Featured Songs:

  1. "Friend Like Me" (Aladdin)
  2. "The Best of Friends" (The Fox and the Hound)
  3. "Something There" (Beauty and the Beast)
  4. "How Do You Do?" (Song of the South)
  5. "Friendship" (originally from Du Barry was a Lady, sung here by Mickey, Donald and Goofy)
  6. "In Harmony" (The Little Mermaid)
  7. "Let's Get Together" (The Parent Trap)
  8. "That's What Friends are For" (The Jungle Book)
  9. "A Whole New World" (Aladdin)
  10. "Friend Like Me (reprise)"

Notes:

  • Instead of Professor Owl introducing Jiminy Cricket, the latter shows up at the beginning of the program.
  • During the opening title card, it had Arabian font on blue smoke instead of the regular caption underneath the Disney's Sing-Along Songs logo. In addition, it plays the last notes to "Friend Like Me".
  • The new arrangement of the opening and closing was first used.
  • When it was reissued in 1994, the original title card was still used.
  • The version of the tape with Ocean Waves cover art, despite being prominently featured in Sing-Along promos, is considered rare as very few copies were produced (some have speculated this is due to Robin Williams' falling out with Disney at the time the Ocean Waves re-releases of previous Sing Alongs were hitting the market)
