Synopsis

Everything connects. Cops, cult, assassins, detectives, Pararibulitis, vampires, lottery ticket, a corgi and Ken, all come to a head.

Tropes

• Big Damn Heroes: The Rowdy Three arrive just in time to keep Gordon's drones from kidnapping Todd in front of his apartment building.
• Delayed Reaction: When Todd tells Amanda that he never had pararibulitis, it takes her a couple of seconds to register the news.
• Dirty Cop: Estevez' boss.
• Heroic BSoD:
  • Estevez after Zimmerfield's death.
  • Bart after failing to kill Dirk and getting stabbed by Farah.
• I Need a Freaking Drink: Estevez is seen downing a bottle of booze on a park bench after witnessing his partner being killed and his carrier going down the drain.
• Just Between You and Me: Subverted. When Dirk and Todd are caught by the cult, Dirk expects Rimmer to start a villainous Motive Rant outlining his end goals and explaining the answers to all their questions for them. Instead he freaks out and immediately begins grilling them about all the same questions they have and more.
  Dirk (towards Todd): This is it. He'll explain everything. He's gonna have the answers.
  Rimmer: I've been waiting for you two for a long time. What is going on? Who are you guys? Did Patrick Spring hire you? If not, then what are you? Are you detectives? No, because you're a... You're a bellhop! You were at the hotel! And you! You're who? What, the FBI? No? Then how does the FBI figure into this? Who shot Ned? How did you know that Farah Black was gonna be in that apartment? I mean, what kind of crazy coincidence is that? Where's the kitten? Where's my dog? Why did you burn down my house? Who has my dog right now? Is it the police? Do the police have my dog? Who beat up Ed and Zed? Was it your guys? Other guys? How many different sets of guys are in this situation? How does Patrick Spring be in two places at the same time?
• Locked in the Bathroom: Amanda does that after hearing the Awful Truth about Todd faking the disease. Becomes a plot point when Estevez arrives and doesn't realize she is having another episode behind the door.
• No Longer with Us: Todd tells Dirk that Amanda is gone which the latter misinterprets until Todd clarifies what he meant.
• Once for Yes, Twice for No: How Estevez finds out that Lydia was trapped inside the dog's body.
• Paper Destruction of Anger: Amanda tears Todd's lottery ticket to pieces out of anger over his lying business.
• Speak in Unison: Dirk and Bart when they meet face to face.
• Title Drop: Dirk drops the series title in discussion with Farah over the name of their agency.
• Worst Aid: At first it seems Ken would defy the trope when he tells Bart that he read that it's a bad idea to pull the metal bar out of her leg. He still does it after some debate.
