Fran wants to volunteer to work at a halfway house for amphibians. Earl, against the idea, agrees to work the night shift and watch the kids during the daytime in the hopes that she'll soon change her mind.

- Springtime for Hitler: Roy suggests Earl watch after the kids while Fran works, thinking that if he does a good enough job, she'll become envious and want to go back to doing the house work. However, when Fran comes home and sees that Earl is perfectly capable of it, she reveals that she considered going back to her usual role as housewife until she saw that Earl can handle the work.
