Japanese Title: Taiki, The Goddess's Warrior!

Taiki and the other members of Xros Heart arrive at the surface to find Kiriha and Nene fighting Blastmon and are ambushed by Baalmon, who shoots Taiki's Xros Loader out of his hand. Taiki and the others retreat behind the cliff face. Dorulumon tells Taiki that Baalmon is an assassin working for the Bagra Army. Baalmon chases them to a dead end and Taiki makes a desperate attempt to reach the Xros Loader when Baalmon's shots break the rockface open, revealing a statue of a masked angelic figure. The sight prompts Baalmon to stop attacking and knock the Xros Loader back to Taiki, saying that he now has a reason to fight fairly. Taiki DigiXroses Shoutmon X4, which is barely able to keep up with Baalmon's speed. Taiki comments that Baalmon fights more like a warrior than an assassin. At the Bagra Army headquarters, Lilithmon questions Baalmon's competence for not having defeated Xros Heart as an unknown Digimon waits at the back of the room. Meanwhile, Nene and Kiriha continue their attack on Blastmon. Blastmon counters by knocking Sparrowmon and Cyberdramon back with his tail and firing his crystals off in every direction. Several of these land near the statue, collapsing the cliff under Taiki and forcing the others to run away.

In a cave at the bottom of the cliff, Taiki tries and fails to contact the others, but sees that the statue has fallen with him. Taiki approaches the statue, which begins to glow brightly. As Taiki also begins to glow, Baalmon reveals himself and refers to the mysterious glow as the Light of the Warrior. Baalmon tells Taiki that the goddess depicted by the statue has acknowledged him as her warrior and explains that the Sand Zone was once ruled and protected by Digimon chosen in this manner with an Angemon as their leader. Baalmon leads Taiki out of the chamber as Blastmon's attack begins to collapse the ceiling. On the surface, Blastmon refuses to continue fighting now that his attack has made him less shiny. Nene tells Kiriha that Taiki has the Code Crown. Kiriha is unsurprised and the two leave the Sand Zone. Baalmon leads Taiki through a ruined corridor and Taiki wonders if Baalmon knows his way around so well because he was one of the goddess's warriors. Baalmon tells Taiki that he was never one of them, but refuses to explain further. Zenjirou and the others search for Taiki on the surface as a robotic Digimon sneaks up on them and shoots Xros Heart's Digimon with an attack that sends them into a mindless rage.

Baalmon shoots several KoDokugumon that appeared behind Taiki. As they continue through the corridor, Baalmon explains that the ruins were the capital of the Sand Zone, named Sandrianote , until a tragedy occurred, after which the city was buried under the sands and the KoDokugumon began to infest the area. They reach a collapsed section of tunnel and Taiki uses the Guilmon DigiMemory to tunnel through. They come out in a large chamber where a battle was fought. Baalmon explains that this chamber was where he fought and killed the goddess's warriors. In the past, Baalmon had been training to become one of the goddess's warriors, but was angry that the goddess would not acknowledge him despite his strength. The warriors fell when someone used a cursed seal with a strange sound to turn them against each other, eventually attacking Baalmon who had to kill them in self-defense. In the present, Baalmon says that the goddess acknowledging Taiki may have also been a message for him not to kill the boy, which would make it the first time that the goddess has acknowledged Baalmon at all. Baalmon tells Taiki that he joined the Bagra Army to find the one who destroyed the warriors. At the end of the tunnel, Baalmon brings Taiki to the surface, but are attacked by Shoutmon and the other Digimon. Baalmon recognizes the seal and brings Taiki to Akari and Zenjirou, who are hiding from the Digimon. Shoutmon and the others drive Taiki out of hiding, but Taiki refuses to let Baalmon fight them. Lilithmon reveals her presence and explains that she used an EBEmon to bewitch Xros Heart's Digimon to see each other as enemies, just as she had the goddess's warriors. Baalmon shoots EBEmon, breaking the spell, and tells Lilithmon that he was looking for her so that he could avenge the deaths of the warriors. Lilithmon stabs Baalmon with poisoned fingernails. Taiki again DigiXroses Shoutmon X4, which destroys EBEmon and protects Baalmon from a second attack by Lilithmon, but Baalmon collapses from Lilithmon's poison.

Tropes:

  • Alien Blood: Angemon had glowing white blood.
  • Bowdlerize: While the statue of the goddess isn't removed, she's referred to as "the queen" and "the Light" in the dub and the warriors are called the Warriors of the Light. Angemon's blood is also removed. As before, Revolmon is recolored.
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: EBEmon's weapon can inflict this on other Digimon, causing them to attack each other and rampage mindlessly.
  • The Chosen One: Being acknowledged by the goddess is this. As of this episode, Taiki is the only one with this status.
  • The Chosen Many: The goddess's warriors were this before they started killing each other. Baalmon was never able to become one of them.
  • Cool Mask: The goddess's statue has a very familiar-looking three-eyed mask.
  • Energy Weapon: EBEmon's mind control ability and a regular attack manifest as these.
  • Engaging Chevrons: Shoutmon X4's first DigiXros sequence is cut off, but the second one isn't.
  • Extendable Arms: Lilithmon can extend her arm to use her poison attack.
  • Fast Tunnelling: Taiki uses the Guilmon DigiMemory to tunnel through a collapse section of corridor.
  • Femme Fatalons: Lilithmon has poisonous ones. She uses them on Baalmon.
  • The Fighting Narcissist: Once again, Blastmon. He even leaves once his crystals lose their shine.
  • Flash Step: EBEmon is able to get behind Shoutmon X4 with one of these, though it doesn't help it at all.
  • Gemstone Assault: Blastmon lets off a big omnidirectional one, kicking off many of the episode's events.
  • Giant Spider: While not nearly as large as most examples of this trope, the KoDokugumon are larger than any real spider.
  • The Greys: EBEmon is a robotic version.
  • Kick the Dog: Lilithmon takes the opportunity to do this when she realizes the Baalmon knew the goddess's warriors.
  • Machine Monotone: EBEmon has this in the dub. In the original, it just makes some electronic vocal stutters.
  • Magitek: EBEmon's mind-altering ability is described by Lilithmon as a glamour spell.
  • Mind-Control Eyes: Digimon under EBEmon's spell have these. With Shoutmon and the others, their eyes just go dull. The Karatenmon in the flashback, on the other hand, have their pupils dilated and the rest of their eyes entirely red.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Baalmon's reaction when he killed Angemon.
  • Poisonous Person: Lilithmon's fingernails are poisoned.
  • Revenge: Revealed to be Baalmon's goal. He wants revenge on Lilithmon for killing the warriors.
  • Stab the Scorpion: Baalmon shoots several Kodokugumon that were about to ambush Taiki, who thought that Baalmon was attacking him at first.
  • Tail Slap: Cyberdramon and Blastmon both do this. Blastmon's is rather more effective.
  • Tron Lines: The ruined corridor has similar ones to the previous episode, except these are green.
  • Unusual Weapon Mounting: Shoutmon X4's Vulcans, which are above his eyes.
