As the citizens wonder at the portal to Hell hanging above the hotel, Lady and Trish arrive and explain that the Lowell's ancestor was a sorcerer who could bind demons. He sealed Abigail in Hell and created the pendant as the key to the seal. Sid returns to Earth and mutates into Abigail's Kaiju sized form. As the citizens run for their lives, Sid starts smashing and blasting everything, and spawning an army of lesser demons. While Trish and Lady battle the army, Patty runs into the burning hotel despite the adult's wishes. Nina and Morrison run after her.

Patty forgives her mother for abandoning her, and apologizes for giving in to Sid's demands and granting him Abigail's power. When they arrive at the top floor, they find the pendant has been smashed, but Patty reveals she's wearing a weaker version of it that is able to drive away some attacking demons. Patty uses the pendant to reopen the portal to Hell and jumps through it, but it closes before Morrison and Nina can follow her. Patty journeys through Hell, her pendant protecting her from several attacking demons, and finds Dante. She attempts to pull Rebellion out of him, but she's not strong enough. She tearfully apologizes for all the times she got mad at him, and begs him to wake up, knowing his injuries can't kill him that easily.

Sid figures out what she is doing and instantly returns her to Earth. He thanks her for her part in helping him ascend, then taunts her by saying Dante is dead and nothing she does can change it. He orders his minions to kill her, but out of nowhere, Dante returns and defends her. Sid says it's not possible. Dante says he was trapped in a dream, but Patty's voice woke him up. Dante and Sid have a rematch. Dante uses his Devil Trigger, making him powerful enough to defeat Sid. Sid's body regenerates, but he's now back in his original body and without Abigail's power. Sid incredulously asks how he could have lost, and Dante explains that someone like Sid who let his soul rot with his evil thoughts and deeds will never defeat a virtuous soul, no matter how much power he gains. Sid asks him to spare his life just like the first time they met, but Dante says Sid wasted the second chance he had been given and is not getting another. Enraged, Sid calls him a bastard and lunges at him, but Dante says, "Jackpot!" and shoots him dead.

After reuniting with his friends, Dante tells Patty to live with her mother now and live a long, happy life. Later, after the city has been rebuilt, Dante is depressed now that Patty isn't around anymore, but Morrison informs him of a new job. Dante, Morrison, Lady, and Trish drive off to it. Patty visits Devil May Cry and prepares to clean it like she normally does.
