Go To

The Megarangers battle Dr. Hinelar in a final battle.

Tropes in this episode include:

  • Avenging the Villain: Devastated by the deaths of Shibolena and Yugande, dying from the side effects of being in the Nejire Dimension, Hinelar aims to kill Megarangers and Kubota at any cost.
  • Bittersweet Ending: The Megarangers defeat Dr. Hinelar and attend their high school graduation. But Mega Voyager is destroyed in the process.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Hinelar's One-Winged Angel form allows him to overwhelm the Megarangers, only failing because he can't maintain it. He proceeds to deliver a similarly one sided fight with the Grand Neziros. But the only reason he doesn't win is because he's dying, and he decides to kill everyone via self destruct.
  • Curb Stomp Cushion: Mega Voyager manages to blast off one of Death Nejiro's arms, but it just regrows a new one.
  • Disney Death: The Megarangers are believed to be dead once Grand Nejiros completes its self-destruct mechanism. Kenta and company reveal they managed to eject to safety after sacrificing Mega Voyager to stop Dr. Hinelar's attempted mass-murder/suicide.
  • Freudian Excuse Is No Excuse: Dr. Hinelar reveals his animosity towards Kubota is because his Mega Suits were favored over the body enhancement experiments that killed his daughter. Despite Hinelar's pointing out how they became pariahs like himself, the Megarangers refuse to see his tragic past as justification for dragging innocent people into their fight.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: During the final battle, Hinelar mocks the Megarangers for still fighting for the people who turned on them after he exposed their identities. But the Megarangers counter that Hinelar's reasons do not justify dragging people into their fight.
  • Last Villain Stand: Losing Hinelar City, Yugande and Shibolena, Hinelar becomes solely focused on getting revenge on the Megarangers.
  • Laughing Mad: Right before he dies in the explosion of the Grand Neziros.
  • Public Domain Soundtrack: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's "Dies Irae" is played as Hinelar reveals his motive for hating Kubota.
  • Taking You with Me: Hinelar, his body about to collapse on itself, activates Grand Nejiros's self destruct to take everyone down with him. But Megarangers sacrifice the already-damaged Mega Voyager to prevent that, taking Grand Nejiros into the the air so that it would safely explode.
