Tropes

  • A Day in the Limelight: For Batwoman, whom Batman left in charge prior to his disappearance. Making her the episode's Big Good.
  • Continuity Nod: Riddler goes to war with The Joker in retaliation for Joker hiring Deathstroke to kill him during Punchline: Episode 3.
  • Daddy's Little Villain: Batwoman states that Ra's Al Ghul is the only one Talia's truly loyal to in the end.
  • Easily Forgiven: In spite of the problems Joker has caused him, Mr. Freeze still sides with him during the gang war, as apposed to his allies Ivy and Scarecrow, who side with Riddler.
  • Enemy Mine: Batwoman and Nightwing are working with Talia Al Ghul to end the Gang War.
  • Even Necessarily Evil Has Standards: While understanding that preforming evil actions are necessary, Batwoman draws the line with dropping the Riddler's men into a pool of chemicals to turn them into Joker clowns. She has the heroes drop them into the ocean instead.
  • Eviler than Thou: The missions The Penguin and Two Face for the Joker and Riddler respectively shows the former to be this. While Two Face's missions involves either saving the Riddler's men or using Joker's blimps against his men. Penguin's missions involves strapping exploding rockets to the Riddler's men and dropping them into pools of chemicals to turn them into Joker Clowns.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: The ultimate plan to end the Gang War is to escalate it to the point where it would burn itself out.
  • It Is Beyond Saving: One of the "Manifesto" investigations has Talia desperately trying to convince Batman that Gotham is this, and to leave it to its fate.
  • Karma Houdini: Talia, despite betraying the villains and leaving them to take the fall for her (and by extension, the League of Assassins') crimes, is still considered a member of the Secret Society and faces no repercussions for her actions.
  • Level in Reverse: The Turf War duos that take place in the Cape Carmine Lighthouse has players fight their way from the bottom to the top as opposed to the original instance.
  • Necessarily Evil: Batwoman has you work both sides, which involves completing missions that involves evil acts. She knows that it goes against everything they stand for, but it's the only way to end the war.
  • Number Two:
    • Given Batwoman's status as leader in the efforts to end the gang war on the Heroes' side with Batman's disappearance, she falls into this by default.
    • The Penguin and Two-Face also fall into this being the leaders in place of the disappeared Joker and Riddler respectively.
  • Properly Paranoid: In regards to Talia. Batwoman, Nightwing, and even the Joker turn out to be right in their suspicion of her involvement.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: In the "Manifesto" investigations, Talia gives one to just about everyone in Gotham. The citizens, GCPD, villains... Not even the Batfamily are exempted from this.
  • Reforged into a Minion: One of Penguin's assigned missions involves capturing Riddler's men and turning them into clowns by dropping them into pools of chemicals.
  • Villain Respect: Talia is impressed with Nightwing's suggestion on handling the gang war, musing that her son Damian is possibly influencing him.
