Megan and Isabella are getting ready for the yearly Chatham Plunge when Megan receives a message from Ned offering her a job opportunity and bails under false pretenses, promising Isabella they'll hang out in the evening.

Ned shows Megan his center of operations. He explains that his security software, which locks down the house if any window or door is open, might be compromised by the Y2K bug, and asks Megan to help him find a solution. Megan thanks him for his helping her these past few months.

At the plunge, Luke and Isabella hang out with their friends. Luke tells Isabella he thinks Megan doesn't love him anymore. After Luke asks Isabella if she regrets breaking up with him, he admits he still thinks about her and tries to kiss her, but she rebuffs him.

Luke surprises Megan in her room with a commemorative T-shirt and they have sex. Afterwards, Luke tells Megan about the attempted kiss at the Plunge, but lies and tells Isabella was trying to kiss him.

July 30th, 2000

Megan spent the night unable to sleep and refuses to tell Debbie where she got her new laptop. She later comes to the Chambers' house where a memorial has been made for Luke. She is joined by Brent and the two remember embarrassing moments from Luke's life, before Brent admits he regrets having been a dick to Luke.

Megan digs up the police files on Lisa's death, according to which Isabella convinced a drunk Lisa to go swimming. They fought in the water, and right after Lisa drowned and before anyone started asking questions, Isabella left on a helicopter. Due to insufficient evidence and thanks to her parents' influence, the case was closed.

Debbie finds the bloodied pillowcase under the bed in the trailer.

Steve blames Sheriff Myer for not charging anyone for two weeks, to which Myer replies he cannot react to any theory. Steve and Brent try convincing him to incriminate Isabella, but when he refuses to do so without sufficient evidence, Steve tells him he is hiring a PI. He then goes to the Landrys' and tries to talk to Megan, only for Debbie to chase him away.

Megan comes to the hotel room where Isabella is staying and accuses her of lying about Lisa, her past, and their friendship. Isabella is adamant Lisa jumped into the water on her own and she tried to save her, and that she never lied about their friendship. Just as Isabella brings up their lie about the sex tape and Megan point blank accuses her of killing both Lisa and Luke, Parker overhears their conversation and immediately goes to the Sheriff.

Debbie confronts Megan about the pillowcase and asks if the blood is Luke's.
