The Williams clan (minus Bernard, but plus J.P. and Kelsey) have a day at the beach.

Tropes:

  • Beach Episode: Craig, his family (sans Bernard), and his friends go to the beach.
  • Description Cut: Done three times regarding Bernard. First, Craig sarcastically tells Bernard to have fun at work, cut to Bernard staring blankly out the window. Second, Craig claims that Bernard doesn't mind staying behind because he loves work; cut to Bernard pouring orange juice while clearly upset. Then at the end, Craig says that he loves spending time with the whole family; cut to Bernard staring out the window of the restaurant, a single tear coming down his cheek.
  • Devoured by the Horde: The guy lying down over the treasure is apparently eaten by the seagulls when Craig throws the bag of chips over him. It's more likely, however, that the guy was just scared away by the gulls and the kids were just imagining the rest.
  • Hollywood Mirage: Parodied when Kelsey thinks she sees an ice-cream cart with a "free ice-cream" sign. Turns out the cart was real, but the sign actually read "Dairy-free ice-cream".
  • Hypocritical Humor: After Craig is shown up by his dad at digging up sand crabs, he angrily says that the crabs don't like to be messed with.
  • Shout-Out: The necklace J.P. finds in the sand resembles the Heart of the Ocean from Titanic (1997).
  • Thousand-Yard Stare: Bernard is clearly not jazzed about having to work on beach day.
  • Treasure Hunt Episode: Craig, Kelsey, and J.P. go on a treasure hunt after finding a treasure map, which leads them to a small container with a $20 bill inside. The whole thing was Duane's idea.
  • Treasure Map: Craig, J.P., and Kelsey come across one near a small, wooden shipwreck. Craig's dad Duane made it for them.
  • What Have I Done: Said by Jessica when she realizes she doesn't have enough chips for all the seagulls that have gathered around her.
  • Worthless Yellow Rocks: J.P. digs for sand crabs, but is disappointed to find a jeweled necklace instead, which he throws away.
  • "X" Marks the Spot: The spot where the treasure is buried is marked by an X made of seashells.
