Written & storyboarded by Jason Dwyer & Tiffany Ford

When a kid claims Dibs on the Stump, Craig has no choice but to take them to court. Dibs Court.

Tropes:

  • Acrofatic: Richard really doesn't look it but he was apparently all set to swing a pugil stick if that was the thing.
  • Chekhov's Gun: The small "J.P." written on the door in the stump, which is later used as proof that the stump belongs to Craig and his friends.
  • Literal-Minded:
    • When Mark calls for a court recess, all the kids are on the playground having recess.
    • Craig calls Kelsey as a surprise witness. She then bursts out of a box and yells "Surprise!"
  • Serious Business: Dibs is treated as unbreakable law. No matter how heartfelt or logical the trio's arguments are, Richard simply saying "I call Dibs" is enough to sway the jury. The only thing that the court finds that can overrule calling dibs is "Finders Keepers", which comes back around when it's discovered that J.P.'s name was written on the door in the stump before Richard called dibs.
  • Stealth Pun: The kid who rudely claims Dibs on the trio's spot is named Richard. What's short for Richard again?
