While scuba-diving off the coast of a tropical island, Courage and Muriel meet the Coralites, a civilization of small creatures living in a nearby coral reef. When Eustace hears of this, he seeks advice from Ma Bagge—who has her eyes on that same coral, and will stop at nothing to get her hands on it.

Conway the Contaminationist

Original air date: 6/14/2002 (produced in 2001)

Production code: CCD-305b

An unkempt, elderly pilot named Conway crashes his plane near the farmhouse while promoting his motto ("Live Longer, Live Better"), and is brought inside to recuperate. He claims his "good health" is a result of his unconventional (and very filthy) lifestyle, and encourages the family to live in squalor to make the farmhouse more comfortable for him.

    open/close all folders

     Scuba Scuba Doo
  • Big Eater: One particularly tiny Coralite girl is capable of decimating an entire pie.
  • Gasshole: The little Coralite girl mentioned above; both times she's shown eating something she finishes with a huge belch and an "Excuse me!"
  • Last of Their Kind: The Coralite civilization is stated to be this; without their coral reef they would go extinct.
  • Our Founder: The Coralites have a painting of theirs, Ezra Jedediah Coral, in their "Great Hall of Coral History".
  • Shout-Out: The episode's title is one to Scooby-Doo.

     Conway the Contaminationist
  • Bad Is Good and Good Is Bad: Played with; Conway insists that the Bagges embrace "bad", dirty air over "good", clean air.
Conway: Out with the good air, in with the bad.
  • Older Than They Look: Conway claims to be almost 200 years old, attributing his long life to his method of living.
  • The Pig-Pen: Conway, full stop. The Bagges (minus Courage) become this as well after he convinces them, but they only wind up emaciated and feeble.
  • Quarantine with Extreme Prejudice: After Conrad teaches Eustance and Muriel to live in filth, the entire house is sealed in a giant dome as ordered by the City of Nowhere because "it's too dirty in there".
  • Trash of the Titans: The farmhouse, under Conway's "Live longer, live better" suggestions, becomes completely filthy, to the point that the Bagges risk the entire house being sealed in a plastic bubble.
  • Win-Win Ending: Courage defeats Conway by sucking him into a giant vacuum cleaner, but Conway doesn't really mind since now he gets to live in all the filth he wants. In the process, Muriel and Eustace are also saved, so really everyone ends up happy.
