Chain of Harm: The episode explores one many generations in the making. According to Eustace, he's mean and grouchy because his mother was unkind to him growing up. Later, it's revealed that the reason Eustace's mother was nasty to him was because of her cruel great-aunt.
My God, What Have I Done?: Downplayed. The Phantom expresses regret at misplacing her vengeance towards Muriel with a melancholic "I feel so... inadequate!" But she gets over it quickly when she realizes the true descendant of her husband's killer (Eustace's mother) is within reach now.
Status Quo Is God: Courage's therapy with the Bagges helps Eustace overcome his demons and make up with Muriel. But after the events of the episode, it's undone and Eustace is back to his grouchy, ungrateful self. Muriel takes it well, since it means things are truly back to normal.
