"Feelings... Whoa, Whoa, Whoa" is the 9th episode of the 11th season of Cheers.

The bizarre, insult-based, passionate affair between John Allen Hill and Carla continues. However, things take a surprise turn when Hill has a heart attack and is sent to the hospital. First, Carla, who has been insisting how much she hates Hill and affects indifference when she's told, later breaks down crying and calls him "my boyfriend". Then Carla reveals that Hill had his heart attack when they were in bed together.

In the B-plot, Cliff is even crazier than usual, thinking that a 103-year-old Adolf Hitler has moved into Cliff's apartment building.

Tropes:

  • Adolf Hitlarious: A particularly deranged Cliff becomes convinced that Hitler is living in his apartment building. He's been wrong twice before, but this time, he's sure.
  • Ask a Stupid Question...: Rebecca is surprised to see Carla show up for work after John Allen Hill had a heart attack. She asks why Carla is there, and Carla says "Living my lifelong dream. Fulfilling all my fantasies. I'm a cocktail waitress. What do you think I'm doing here?" As it turns out Carla is only faking indifference.
  • First-Name Basis: John Allen Hill has been calling Carla "Miss Tortelli" throughout the whole of their passionate affair, and is visibly surprised when she says to call her Carla.
  • Nobody's That Dumb: Woody, the most gullible character in the cast, appears to take Cliff's side in the "Hitler or not Hitler" debate. Then when Cliff leaves, he reveals he's just pretending to be on Cliff's side so when he inevitably snaps and tries to kill everyone, he'll spare Woody.
  • Noodle Incident: The landlord of Cliff's complex comes to the bar and threatens to have him evicted if Cliff doesn't stop harassing an old man. After Cliff apologizes, he asks if he can go back into the laundry room now. The landlord says no, Cliff's laundry room ban is a whole separate thing.
  • Out with a Bang: Narrowly averted, it seems, as John Allen Hill had a heart attack during sex with Carla. Carla is feeling particularly guilty, blaming herself because she said "I love you" to Hill right before Hill keeled over.
  • Series Continuity Error: Hill appears at Cheers and says that he hasn't been down there since the fire. However, in just the previous episode, "Ill-Gotten Gaines", Hill came down to the bar while the gang was having Thanksgiving dinner.
