Dr. Blight and Sly Sludge are illegally dumping sewage. Blight betrays Sludge and uses a shrink ray on him and four of the Planeteers. Then Kwame unwittingly drinks them along with contaminated water.
This episode includes examples of the following tropes:
- Agony of the Feet: MAL attempts to free Dr. Blight from the steel beam cage caused by Kwame by firing a laser at it. He accidentally shoots her foot instead.
- "Fantastic Voyage" Plot: The rest of the Planeteers accidentally gets drunk by Kwame which was also filled with tainted water. Not only do they have to escape, they must also destroy the invasive bacteria causing Kwame's illness.
- Incredible Shrinking Man: While in the Eco-Sub, Wheeler, Linka, Gi and Ma-Ti get shrunk by Dr. Blight, along with Sly Sludge who was aboard with them as well.
- Instantly Proven Wrong: As the Planeteers are making camp, Wheeler notices Linka is having trouble with setting up her tent. He offers to help her out, but she refuses, saying she can handle it herself. A moment after Wheeler leaves, the tent ends up collapsing right on top of Linka.
- No Honor Among Thieves: Sludge is perfectly willing to run out on Blight and MAL if it means he can save himself. Blight, in turn, is perfectly willing to shrink him along with four of the Planeteers in revenge.
- Tsundere: While Ma-Ti and Wheeler are preparing to battle the parasites, Linka tells Ma-Ti to be careful... and then, after a moment, repeats the admonition with Wheeler. He teases her about whether this means she cares, causing her to close the door in both their faces.
