After Max, Neil and Nikki sneak out to watch a scary TV episode, David starts behaving very strangely towards Max. Max starts suspecting that he's actually been taken over by a torso taker.

- Failed Attempt at Scaring: Max is actually alot more relieved to find out that Daniel replaced David, explaining that compared to either losing his mind or David being replaced by evil aliens, one cult leader he's already thwarted before is a downgrade.
- Foreshadowing: In a bit of a Rewatch Bonus, "David" never blinks, which hints that Daniel had swapped places with him.
- Hidden Depths: David (err... Daniel) quotes Dark Reflections implying that he’s a fan of the show.
- Papa Wolf: When Daniel pulls out a knife and threatens to stab Max, David doesn't even hesitate tackling him to the ground.
- Shout-Out: Dark Reflections is an obvious parody of Black Mirror. The program that David caught the trio watching in the bunker behaved similarly to parody plots of Invasion of the Body Snatchers, seen in shows like Phineas and Ferb. Also, Daniel replacing David as their primary camp counselor was a dead giveaway for Max that something was amiss, similar to the primary plot of the movie Psycho where a psychopath dresses up as a hated person that they know.
