A woman confesses to stabbing her husband 17 times, but the DNA evidence shows that another woman is involved...despite the wife's protestations that she acted alone. Later, the evidence suggests that the other woman is a serial killer.
Tropes for the episode:
- Amalgamated Individual: A whole list of crimes are at first believed to be the work of a serial killer. Three are later found to be committed by another person. The rest are eventually linked to epithelial tissue left by a worker in a cotton-swab factory who should've been wearing gloves.
- Not Good with Rejection: The wife. She discovers a ring that another woman had given her husband for his birthday and follows thru with her threat that if he ever cheated on her, she'd kill him.
- Ripped from the Headlines: The serial killer aspect is based on a real life case
from Germany in the 1990s and early 2000s.
