A recently fired jockey is accused of killing his former employer's prized racehorse and its trainer and the judge seems to be biased against him for some reason.
Tropes:
- Insurance Fraud: Subverted. The killed horse was insured for millions but the real killer turns out to be someone with a vendetta against the horse's trainer.
- Mercy Kill: The trainer was the real killer's target and he even poisoned the horse so it'd have a painless death instead of being killed by the fire.
- Mistaken for Racist: Izzy sees the judge's hostility towards Rafael as evidence the judge is biased against Latin-Americans but the judge merely let his love for animals cloud his judgment.
- Revenge: Double subverted. Rafael is believed to have killed his former boss' horse as a revenge for being fired but the real killer was someone aiming to kill the horse's trainer because he blames her for his horse's death.
