Dr. Kuzniak advised Malloy that the only option left to him was to shoot and kill his hobo since he had gotten "hobo rabies" from a rabid hobo. But as soon as Malloy puts the hobo to rest, Kuzniak confesses that the hobo never actually had rabies; he just claimed to have since he was tripping over balls.
