The Courageous Battlers must put aside their differences to battle the RoboLord.
- Abusive Parents: While the Kirkmans encourage Chris to believe in The Power of Friendship, and Willow's parents let him adopt a member of the alien race they had most recently saved, Danny's parents completely ignore their son and Mr. Vasquez orders Beth to stop writing poetry and focus on homework.
- Breaking the Fellowship: Right before their latest mission, all of the Courageous Battlers plan to split the group; the Kirkmans want to go solo, Wallow's parents declare they're opening an animal sanctuary, and Mr. Tezuka is attempting to break up the Vasquez's relationship.
- Groin Attack: Apparently, this is the strategy the Battlers have always used in the past to thwart the RoboLord's creations, but they're thwarted by her giving her newest soldiers metal jock straps.
- Innocent Innuendo: After their parents leave to report to the Fish President, and the other kids are too busy to play Holo-Chess with him, Chris says that he'll have to (check)mate with himself.
- Love Triangle: Mr. Tezuka tries to start a relationship between himself and Mrs. Vasquez, who has no love for her husband. However, she's completely uninterested in him.
- Multi-Part Episode: Part one of a two-part story.
- She Is the King: "Lord" is usually a masculine title, but the RoboLord identifies as a woman.
- Whole Episode Flashback: This and the next episode depict the last mission the Courageous Battlers took before being separated from their children, who would later become the Bravest Warriors.
