Choke Holds: Don't count Joshua out just because he's wheelchair bound and the psychopathic Springer has him held at gunpoint. When the fight starts, Springer is distracted just long enough for an angry Joshua to grab Springer by the neck and literally choke him out ... to the point where his life is in danger and Joe has to tell him, "For the love of God, let him go!"
Even Evil Has Standards: Springer's cronies are angry and upset with their leader's "so what" attitude after they realize a 7-year-old boy had been shot.
Mercy Kill: One of Springer's cronies is shot as they try to make their getaway, and is becoming delirious with blood loss. Rather than take him to seek medical attention in the next town (as they are trying to escape to Mexico) and risk capture (since Springer is wanted for multiple bank robberies), Springer orders the poor guy be put out of his misery.
Would Hurt a Child: Springer shooting little Jonah when he walks in on the bank robbery.
