Even in a new generation, some things just never change...

Bandit gets roped into playing two separate games with Bingo and Bluey.

Tropes in this episode include:

  • 20 Minutes into the Future: The future of Brisbane is fairly similar to the present, but with more green energy, delivery drones, and visual displays instead of portraits.
  • Ambiguous Situation: Bluey will have a child in the future, but the gender and name of the child and the identity of the child's father are left for the viewer to decide.
  • Arm Cannon: Bluey chases Bandit with a toy arm cannon that fires rubber yellow balls. In the future epilogue, Bluey's child is seen preparing to surprise Bandit with an even more advanced version of the cannon.
  • Babies Ever After: The future-set ending shows that Bluey's had a child, with the father unknown. The child has Bluey’s fur design, but the colors suggest their father could be either Mackenzie or Jean-Luc.
  • Badly Battered Babysitter: Due to Bluey's game clashing with Bingo's, Bandit gets chased around the house while carrying Bingo's children and having balls fired at him.
  • Bookends: While preparing her cyborg weapon, Bluey asks her mom what's it like to have kids and if she'll ever have any of her own. The last scene shows Bandit realizing that he's about to be attacked by Bluey's child.
  • Call-Back: During the end in the future, Chilli jokes about Bandit nearly selling the house.
  • Distant Finale: The last minute of the episode takes place in the future, where a grown-up Bluey visits the Heeler house, with her child in tow.
  • Does This Remind You of Anything?: Towards the end, Bingo's latest "baby" has a head that doesn't fit their body, and has to be taken to the hospital. This is coded as the "baby" having a disability or condition. To add onto it, Bandit remarks on the baby having "something going on" with their head and/or their body, but assures them they have a whole family who will take care of their needs.
  • Freeze-Frame Bonus: Some of the future-set photos featured in the visual portraits include Bluey's graduation and Bingo visiting the Easter Islands.
  • Glasses of Aging: Chilli sports a pair of these in her senior years.
  • Growing Up Sucks: Played with and Played for Laughs. The episode begins with Bluey asking Chili what it's like having kids. Later, when Bandit is in an undignified fetal position protecting Bingo's children and singing to them while allowing Bluey to shoot him with tennis balls so he can protect them, Chili finally answers the question saying this is what being a parent looks like. The bemusement in her voice also lets Bluey know she holds no ill will towards the self-sacrificing nature of being a parent.
  • Here We Go Again!: During Bluey's game, she surprises Bandit by ambushing him at the front door. In the ending set in the future, his grandkid—Bluey’s child—is shown about to pull the same trick, with an even more advanced toy.
  • In the Future, We Still Have Roombas: Future Bandit looks disapprovingly at a Roomba-like cleaning robot that can't return to its base.
  • Once Done, Never Forgotten: Downplayed: When adult Bluey mentions how well the house is looking, Chili brings up Bandit wanting to sell it, causing him to accuse her of never letting it go, but it's clear from their tones that there's no real heat behind this.
  • Shaking the Rump: Bandit does this to taunt Bluey after safely returning to Bingo.
  • Shout-Out: One of the photos among the virtual portraits is a younger Bluey holding an orange heart, a reference to Bluey's inclusion in r/Place 2022.
  • Special Guest:
    • Paralympics wheelchair racer Kurt Fearnley voices the commentator, and is drawn as one of the racers on the TV.
    • Actress and singer Geraldine Hakewill provides the voice of Bluey as an adult.
  • Sweet and Sour Grapes: Bandit's struggle to play both his daughters' games comes to a head when Bingo's latest child needs to go to the hospital, which is situated away from the television. Good father he is, Bandit patiently decides his daughter's "child" should take precedence over watching his game and commits to the game. For his selflessness, Bluey forgoes her own game to pretend to be a helpful character, giving her father exactly what he wanted the entire time: a chance to relax and watch his game in peace.
  • Throw the Dog a Bone: Bandit gets to watch his racing event on the telly, while taking care of the other children, after Bluey offers to watch over Bingo's hospitalized child.
  • What You Are in the Dark: Bandit hasn't exactly had an easy day trying to watch the sports event. With both his daughters vying for him to play their two different games at the exact same time, it comes to a head when Bingo's latest "baby" needs to go to the hospital for their head not fitting their body. And instead of the hospital being in the "safe zone" near the television, it's outside under the tree. Bandit could've left the "baby" to watch the sports event. Instead, he commits to his role as the dad watching over his grandchild, assuring them that whatever their condition is, they have a whole family (himself included) who will support and watch over them. Unknown to him, Bluey is behind a tree readying an attack on Bandit for her game, but has overheard the entire thing and is in turn inspired to give her father a break.

Bandit taunting Bluey

While juggling playing two different games with Bluey and Bingo, Bandit believes he's safe from Bluey's attack and taunts her. However, Bandit forgot one of Bingo's "children".

How well does it match the trope?
